Calarian is the command center of the Southern Command of the Philippine Army. Affectionately called Southcom. Calarian is a Beach front Barangay with plenty of natural beauty. The only golf course in Zamboanga city is located in Calarian and this golf course also comes with a beach front where everybody can picnic and swim. The picnic tables and kiosks are open to the public.
