History of Epsilon Xi APO Chapter

"ONCE AN APO ALWAYS AN APO"

This is the guiding principle for every member of the Alpha Phi Omega that even after they leave the Colleges and Universities where they joined the Fraternity and Sorority, they seek out for brothers and sisters with whom they prefer to be associated with.

One unique character of this fraternity and sorority is that no matter what Chapter they come from, brothers and sisters have similar experiences in the manner of initiation that made them love Alpha Phi Omega forever.

MOre often than not, the "passwords" are enough to know if a brother or a sister is a real one in the absence of their identificationcard issued by the National Council. But this has not to be so in the very near future as the National Council would be insisting.

The now Ulo Ng Apo Alumni Association, used to be A Phi O Olongapo City Alumni Association, started organizing in 1975 spearheaded by known "Die Hards" (but not fanatics)" like Lawyer Engelbert "Bert De Castro (Eta Chartered Member), Pido Alcantara (Upsilon 62), Lawyer Ernesto Gonzales (Eta 64), Ben Marzal (Upsilon 65), Arsenio Bal (Omega66), Benjie Mendigorin (Alpha Alpha66), Philip Canlas (Alpha Eta 67), Bien De Castro (Alpha Theta67) and Ding Errazo (Alpha)

Lawyer Bro. Ernie Gonzales was to become the First President (1975) whose first thrust was to gather more alumni brothers and sisters to further strenghten the association. That was not to be so because there were not much alumni brothers and sisters around. Bro. Jess Sales (Omega67) came forth in late 1976.

Brother Bien de Castro (Alpha Theta 67) became the second President (1977) of the association.This time ,seeing the expansion of membership was not yet possible, with Athik Guardamano (Gamma Sigma 70) and Past President Ernie Gonzales, organized in 1979 the chapter in Columban College finally founded on February 4, 1980, was recognized by the National Council and listed in the National Roster of Chapters on December 14, 1980 as the EPSILON XI Chapter.
