We have to fastrack our efforts to cathc up with these problems."

There are a number of politicians who questioned the legality of the Sanito Barangay Government Code but no one dared to go to court for its nullification. The provincial government and the DILG acknowledged it. No less than Her Excellency Pres. Gloria Macapagal - Arroyo also acknowledged it in a speech before the Sibugaynons on February 20, 2009 when she declared that "what made your barangays outstanding is that Barangay Sanito is one of this year's Gawad Galing Pook awardees for harnessing resources at the barangay level by virtue of its Barangay Government Code."

Politician - historian Reubern Canoy said that he stunbled into this fact while in a a research on his book the History of Mindanao which is not yet off the press. Informations handed from generation to generation also revealed that the entire Metropolitan Ipil used to be part of sitio Sanito, then part of Barangay Bacalan of the Municipality of Kabasalan. (Ipil was officially created  in July 26, 1949.)

BARANGAY SANITO rose to prominence when it was chosen as one of the 2008 Gawad Galing Pook awardees in ceremony held at Malacanang on February 12, 2009.

Barangay Sanito was created in May 13, 1969 but the effort to create Sanito,the oldest sitio in Ipil with cultural importance, dates back to February 12,1967 and was introduced in the halls of the municipal council by then councilor Avelino Giduquio.

Among the awards garnered by Barangay Sanmito were:

1. The Most Outstanding Barangay Chairman Award of 2005 (province -wide) 2. Regional awardee of the Search for Outstanding Barangay Bagsakan 3. Anti - Drug Award from the PNP 4. Most Outstanding Barangay Award (on solid waste management) by the provincial government

SANITO has an area of 1,433 has., more or less, and a population of about 10,000 people (2008 estimates). It has an internal revenue allotment of about 2,200 million (2008).
