ILOILO CITY, Oct. 27 (PNA) -- The Hospital Management Office has turned over to the local government unit of Iloilo some Php116 million reinvestment from the income of the 12 district hospitals in the province.

Iloilo Provincial administrator Raul Banias said that in 2014, 12 hospitals were able to generate the said amount from the hospital fees and savings.

“The money will be used as supplemental budget for the improvement of the hospitals,” Banias said.

Banias also said that the fund will also be used to improve the infrastructures of hospitals, hospital facility upgrading, equipment procurement and to even hire more personnel.

During the State of the Province Address (SOPA) of Iloilo governor Arthur Defensor this October 27, he emphasized that the reinvestment from the hospitals will be able to capacitate the personnel to improve their work performance and attain customer satisfaction that are at par with private hospitals.

In 2015, Banias said that there will still be about Php150 million to be turned over to the province.

Further, the three performing hospitals which earned enough to cover both the Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) and personal services will be given incentives.

Banias said that best performing hospitals could convert their personnel who are under contract of service into permanent personnel.
