Quakes jolt Zamboanga del Norte anew

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — Earthquakes jolted parts of Zamboanga del Norte again since Tuesday.

An offshore quake with a magnitude of 4 hit some 19 kilometers northeast off Manukan town at 8:26 p.m. on Tuesday, Allan Rommel Labayog, Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology regional field officer, said.

The tremor was felt at Intensity 4 in Manukan, Intensity 3 in Dipolog City and Intensity 2 in Polanco, both in Zamboanga del Norte, and Oroquieta, Misamis Occidental.

A magnitude 2.4 quake also jolted Manukan at 4:50 a.m. yesterday.

On Monday, a magnitude 5.4 quake struck Baliguian town. It was felt in most parts of Zamboanga peninsula.
