ZAMBOANGA CITY – The quarantine chokepoints established on the highways and borders at the height of the pandemic in 2020 will be downgraded soon, as the city remains under Alert Level 1 status and with low coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases since May this year. A Sept. 25, 2022 status report sent by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) regional office here to the Philippine News Agency (PNA) on Thursday, showed the road is already passable with only 3.35 kilometers up for paving.

TUBA, Benguet – Amid skyrocketing prices of fertilizer and pesticides, taro farmers in this town have opted to return to organic production, the Municipal Agriculture Office said on Wednesday.  "So that they (farmers) will not have to increase the prices of their produce," municipal agriculturist Marlyn Catanes said on the sidelines of the second day of the ongoing Ava (taro) Festival here.  
COTABATO CITY – Six public and private schools here were recipients of a laboratory apparatus package worth PHP600,000 from the Ministry of Science and Technology in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MOST-BARMM). In a statement Thursday, MOST Minister Aida Silongan said the donation is part of their flagship programs to assist students and teachers in the region, providing laboratory equipment and capacity building for the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) program.
