PIÑAN, Zamboanga del Norte - On December 27, 2018 at about 9:00 A.M., a concern citizen reported to Piñan MPS regarding the discovery of one (1) unit Canter Truck loaded with mahogany logs which fell down beside the provincial road of Sitio Sicoco, Brgy. Del Pilar, Piñan, Zamboanga Del Norte.

Upon receipt of information, PNP personnel of Piñan MPS immediately coordinated with the CENRO office located at Brgy. Segabe, Piñan, Zamboanga Del Norte.

Thereafter, CENRO personnel together with PNP personnel of Piñan MPS proceeded to the area to verify the said report.

Initial Investigation conducted disclosed that said Canter Truck loaded with mahogany logs bearing plate number MBT 583, color white registered under the name of Dennis Adaza Tan resident of Bonifacio Street, Dapitan City travelling from Brgy. Head Tipan, Mutia, Zamboanga del Norte driven by one Eddie Gumial Abitona, 54 years old, widow, a resident of Dapitan City with license number JO1O7004471 passing Brgy. Calican towards Poblacion South, Piñan, ZN and upon reaching particularly at uphill road, suddenly said Canter Truck encountered a mechanical trouble in which there was a malfunction of break causing to fell down at the side of the provincial road.

As a consequence the said truck incurred partly damaged but no one was injured.

A total of seventy (70) mahogany logs that was loaded to said truck were temporarily deposited to CENRO office together with one (1) unit Canter truck for further verification and proper disposition.
