THREE young footballers from Cagayan de Oro city are doing well while playing for Global FC in the ongoing United Football League (UFL) Summer Youth football tournament in Manila.

Carlo Dorin, Jethro Borlongan and Greg Naquines, three former members of the different national youth teams, have been staying in Manila for two weeks now training with Global. They then opened the UFL Summer League with a 4-0 win over Ceres FC of Bacolod city.

Borlongan and Naquines, both from Abbas Orchard Montessori School, delivered the winning goals. Borlongan found the back of the net twice while Naquines scored once.

Dorin, an 8th grade student from Misamis Oriental General Comprehensive High School (MOHGS), was a busy boy in the middle but failed to score a goal.

Borlongan and Dorin were members of the Philippine U14 team which played in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Football Festival in Brunei last year.

Naquines was part of the U-11 Little Azkals team which trained for almost a month at the Loughborough University in United Kingdom three years ago.
