Zamboanga City: "The City of Flowers"

Historically, the City of Zamboanga has always been sentimentally referred to as "The City of Flowers."  It's ancient founders, the Subanons, named it "Jambangan" in their native language, meaning "a place of flowers."  According to legend, the place was resplendent with flowers and full of their ever-changing blooming colors.  Although ancient history doesn't provide us with any pictorial representation of the blossoming paradise that was, we would like to introduce to you the various flowers of Zamboanga City that are evident as it is today.  Please enjoy the photos and kindly observe our photographic copyright note below.  Kudos to all the local gardeners and their floral displays.  Thank you.  Muchas Gracias!
