ILOILO CITY (PNA) -- This year’s Panublion Trade Fair will showcase the best products of the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Western Visayas.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-6 will open the Panublion trade fair on October 10 at the SM City here as part of the activities in celebration of the National Consumer Welfare Month this October.

DTI-6 regional director Rebecca M. Rascon said they are hoping that more people from the different parts of the region will buy products of the MSMEs so they could generate more sales.

Last year’s Panublion trade fair was conducted outside Region 6 and participating MSMEs only generated around Php3 million.

“We are hoping that people here in Western Visayas will appreciate the products of their fellowmen and buy them because they are the best products that our MSMEs have created,” she said.

The seven-day trade fair will specifically showcase products of MSMEs from Iloilo, Aklan, Capiz, Antique, Guimaras and even Negros Occidental.

DTI-Iloilo director Diosdado Cadena Jr. pointed out that the products that will be showcased by the MSMEs are of good quality that it could even be sold in the global market since the participants underwent product development, enhancement, packaging and labeling.

DTI here invited 40 merchandisers or buyers outside the region who will visit the Panublion Fair.

“Hopefully they will order products,” Rascon further said.
