Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat, Project B.O.S.S.

October 20-24, 2012 The LGU of Tacurong City hosted this noble endeavor which is the 10th one we are doing with Maharlika Charity Foundation. The AFP East Mindanao Command, under the auspices of our Brod. Lt. Gen. Jojie Segovia, became our partner in searching for patients, they even ferried them. Col Junie Castro, the CMO has always been closely coordinating with me. Mayor Lina Ortizo Montilla, gladly accepted this mission when I proposed it to her right after when Bro Lt. Gen. Jojie Segovia requested me to do it first in Tacurong City before we do it in Camp Panacan in Davao City. We were billeted in the hotel inside Sultan Kudarat State University.

I also tapped the services of RMN in airing them from Cotobato & Koronadal City. Dr. Joseph Lechonsito whom the Mayor delegated for my close coordination. We had a site visit weeks before the event, unfortunately Dr. Rizal Aportadera had to rush back to Davao City, so I failed to see him. There was also no APO AA that partnered with us, it was my co chapter Bro. Jong Fresco who accompanied me when I inspected the site and had lunch together courtesy of the office of the Mayor and Ms, Toni Ann, the close in aide of the Mayor was around and so with the other staff headed by Dr. Joseph Lechonsito. I had to saty overnight in the lodging place of Sis Lotlot Espinosa. Luckily we met Sis Helen Pamplona Uede who was so kind enough to show us around during our free time.

The group from Gen. San headed by Sis Marife Macasosol arrived to grace the thanksgiving night, Sis Sakina Paglas, the Section Chair came also. The number of patients listed was more than 50, but only about 40 came and 28 were operated. Our Brod. 1Lt.Norben Bello, brought several patients. The low turn out could have been the result of a bomb scare the night before the mission started, also a week after there was a schedule of same nature in Koronadal City. The culmination night was a great event. We were also graced by Col Pangilinan who spoke for Lt. Gen Jojie Segovia, who failed to come for there were some pressing matters back in Davao City. After breakfast of Oct 23, 2012 we departed for home.
